Built in 1885, The Old Chapel was a working methodist chapel until 2005. Renovated by the current owner with many original features retained, it was used as a family home for a number of years and is now being offered as holiday accommodation. The owner continuously maintains the property to ensure that high standards are kept and to ensure that guests find the accomodation welcoming , well equipped and comfortable.
Home comforts include a large breakfast kitchen, utility room and downstairs toilet, five bedrooms (two with en suite shower rooms), family bathroom, study snug, large sitting/dining room, off road parking for two cars and a walled patio garden. Free Wifi throughout the house.
Wrawby is located three miles from the bustling market town of Brigg which sits on the River Ancholme. In Brigg there are a number of independent shops, weekly markets and monthly farmer's markets, several eateries and pubs, supermarkets and a leisure centre. In the village there are two pubs within easy walking distance (5 minutes) and both serve good pub grub and real ales.
For weddings, we are close to Elsham Hall, Rookery Wolds at Barnetby, Forest Pines at Broughton, The Angel Suite at Brigg and a little bit further afield Normanby Hall and Cleatham Hall. We are within easy travelling distance of a number of local attractions including Elsham Hall gardens and country park, Normanby Hall and Gardens, Waters Edge Visitor's Centre and Country Park and the North Lincolnshire Museum.
Humberside Airport is only six miles away and there is easy access to the motorway network via the M180. Rail access is via Barnetby Le Wold station which is only 2 miles away.
Hull, the next city of culture, and the historic city of Lincoln are within easy travelling distance. We are situated on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds where there are a great many walking and cycling routes and miles of the Viking Way and we are within easy travelling distance of Market Rasen, home of a great Racecourse.
There are a number of excellent golf courses nearby including Elsham ( 1 mile), Forest Pines (4 miles) and Gainsborough (20 miles)
It is a thirty minute drive to the Lincolnshire coast and great fish and chips !
